“I am the growth guy”, Rahman Khanani, the new Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer at Element Logic, says.
Khanani started in his new role in April 2021 and is responsible for leading the growth journey for Element Logic.
“Growth can be achieved in many ways. In addition to consolidating our position in existing markets, growth can also entail entering new markets, serving new customer segments or developing new revenue streams”, he explains, and adds:
“Another way we can achieve growth is by defining how we can drive greater value creation for customers, which will help us determine how we want to develop our product or service portfolio or pursue new business models. My job is to figure out where it makes sense for Element Logic to grow and, consequently define how – with innovation being one of the most important growth levers “.
Customer centricity is at the core
“We are excited to have Rahman on board. He brings a valuable outside perspective on our industry, and I look forward to building on his innovative ideas”, Dag-Adler Blakseth, CEO at Element Logic, says.
Khanani has several years of experience from management consulting. He also holds a master’s degree in strategy and innovation from BI Norwegian Business School.
His key priority is to gain a deeper understanding of the industry and our customers.
“My goal is to understand our customers even better than they do themselves. By understanding their business, key value drivers and where they expect to go, we can support them better”, Khanani says.
“I want to connect with our customers, all the way from the users of our solutions to the leadership team, to truly understand their point of view and challenges. I also want them to know that my door is always open – their insight is valuable input for our strategy and innovation agenda and helps us understand how we can help drive greater value creation for our customers”.
Innovation has always been an essential part of Element Logic. We have never been afraid to try new technology or new ways of optimising warehouses. This mindset is why Element Logic was the first in the world to implement AutoStore in a working warehouse.
Exciting times in intralogistics
Our industry has experienced exponential growth for many years now. And with eCommerce skyrocketing, the need for new warehouses and better utilisation of existing warehouse space keeps increasing at an impressive rate.
“I am very excited to be a part of this industry during this growth era. I also really believe in the products and services Element Logic offers, and our people behind the brand. A big part of our success is that we are the leading AutoStore integrator globally in terms of market share. This is a result of several years of hard work and a relationship and partnership that spans decades”, Khanani says, and adds:
“I will therefore seek to provide a platform to build upon the growth already achieved. Naturally, a key part of my journey will also be towards getting to know AutoStore better, building upon our relationship with them and finding ways to collaborate and grow together.”
In 2020, Element Logic had a 40 per cent growth compared to 2019 and surpassed 100 million EUR in revenue for the first time in its 35-year history. In the same year, Element Logic officially became the world’s largest AutoStore distributor.
“In several markets, we have achieved growth beyond our plans and budgets. The incredible growth in online shopping has been essential for our success, and we are pleased to see Element Logic grow at a fast pace while increasing our market shares”, CEO Blakseth, says.
Culture of getting things done
Over the next weeks, Khanani will be recruiting more people to be a part of his strategy and innovation team.
“It is very exciting to build this new function in Element Logic from scratch and to have a significant impact on what we do next. I see how everyone who works here has an amazing attitude of getting things done. This attitude makes me confident that we will be able to achieve great things in the future”.
Currently Khanani is working from his home office in Oslo, and he is very excited to finally meet his colleagues in real life when it is possible.
